Nutrition Programs

The Salvation Army of Camden operates a multi-site nutrition program for seniors. Services include congregate feedings and Meals On Wheels. The Salvation Army's Newark Ironbound Boys' & Girls & Seniors Center in Newark, NJ serves breakfast and lunch daily to seniors and offers many related educational and recreational activities. Summer Camp

All Salvation Army facilities in New Jersey offer the opportunity for Senior Camping at Camp Tecumseh, the Army's residential camp for New Jersey families. For more information, please call any Salvation Army Corps or contact New Jersey Divisional Headquarters at 908-851-9300.

Drop in Center

Every morning from 9:00 am to 1:30 PM, seniors may drop into The Ironbound Boys & Girls & Seniors Center located in Newark's Ironbound section for games, arts & crafts, fellowship and lunch. For more information contact:

Senior Companion Program

This Newark based program provides companions to shut ins and at-risk or fragile elderly seniors from Essex and Hudson County. For more information, contact The Salvation Army's Human Services Bureau at 973-623-5959

Foster Grandparent Program

Foster grandparents are recruited senior volunteers who provide respite and supportive services to families with young children. Many of the families are grandfamilies in which the relative caregiver needs additional support. For more information, contact:
